TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF
B3092 HUNGER HILL EAST STOUR & NEW ROAD [part] GILLINGHAM
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1]
of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be
prohibited from proceeding along the B3092 Hunger Hill East
Stour and New Road[part], Gillingham from
its junction with Browns Lane, East Stour northward
to Newhouse Farm Cottages, Madjeston,
Gillingham, a
distance of approximately 2,500 metres. The Order is
needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the
provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to
Highway Users. It will come into operation on Wednesday 6 January 2010 for a
period of 3 weeks. But it will remain in force for 18 months
and can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport,
Local Government and the Regions, if necessary.
The Order will enable Dorset County Council to
carryout carriageway resurfacing works.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE
The alternative route will be as follows; from the
northern end of the closure at Newhouse Farm Cottages
Madjeston proceed northward to the junction with the B3081 Shaftesbury Road in Gillingham. Turn
right onto the B3081 and continue south-eastward out of Gillingham along
the B3081 to Ivy Cross roundabout in Shaftesbury. At
the roundabout take the first exit off onto the A30 and proceed westward out of
Shaftesbury to the junction with B3092
Back Street in East
Stour. Turn right into Back Street and continue
northward out of East Stour to the
junction with Browns Lane and the
southern end of the closure. The reverse route applies. Access will be
available by arrangement with the Site Agent.
